This is so cool

Last night at Clancy's Neil and the house band where playing which is a great night in itself, awesome music made better with awesome musicians. They play blues and classic rock in the most part with a few orignals in the mix for good measure. Anyways thats not the cool part after the first set we (people from my class) were all sitting at a table together when the radio came back on all at the same time we said "Hang on a minute this song is familar....." they put on our CD the one with all our class projects on it. It was so cool to be setting in a bar and to hear a song that I produced on the radio (well stereo) its like no wait it is a dream come true for me. It was a great feeling to be sitting there going I know who sung this song, who played on this tune, and oh wait this is the one I produced. I can not wait to tell mom that it happened.

Until next time dear readers.........

Im done!

Well an end of an era is done in my life and Im officaly a sound engineer, funny I dont feel any different from this morning when I was still a student. I wrote my last exam today it was EP and I was writting the exam with about an 80% already so I think I did pretty good. In the end I only had to write EP and Marketing this week as Neil is at the end of another rope in the saga that is this year and cancelled our Recording final, good news I guess but I wanted to write it and actually get graded on our projects as producers.
Speaking of the projects I will have a CD with all the songs on it again like last year but this years CD blows lasts years out of the water...Oh my god it is like a pro CD with Danielle's song She Drowns is ready for the radio, with a guitar solo that makes you cry. My project Jessica's song Forever is awesome Neil said tonight at the RA party that he is sending it to his buddy who does a blues show on the radio ( I think) because he thinks its amazing he loves it and the way I recorded it everything 5 different instruments all live all the floor was the best way to do it.
Speaking of Neil's party it was the best time ever it was a great way to end the past two years, we all went out to his cabin out in Port Harmon, he BBQ'd some burgers and veggie dogs and we all had a jam and lots of laughs, and lots of beers and pictures later the cabs came back to get us. We didnt want to go I was having the best time and Neil by the time we left was four sheets to the wind as was most of our class. He had brought 3 dozen beer, 3 liters of white wine, and 4 Guiness for me (he knows thats what I drink). Oh what a time I wish I could have froze time and just stayed there with the sun setting forever. I dont want to think how much crying I am going to do at the grad, although no tears were shead tonight we were laughing to hard to think that this is the end for us but I think that it was all on our minds. As sad as I am that this point in my life is done and its time to move on again I think that I am on to bigger things career wise but it well be hard to go on to better things as the two years that I have been here have been the best of my life all due to the wonderful group that is my class and a great leader and teacher Neil, I have to stop now before I bawl....

So on till next time dear readers...

As promised Lis :D

Okay I know that it has been awhile since my last post but I have been so busy that when I get home at night I just about fall alseep watching t.v. Whats been going on well Im on three different recording projects in each role as first engineer, second engineer and producer. This is so we get to learn what each person does in the recording process. My production is going well and its a little easier on me because I am recording everyone live off the floor, that means that I am recording bass, drums, keys, vocials, and guitar all at the same time. The song has a jazzy feeling to it so Im not going to do so much in the post production aspect of it. On the other songs everything is going smoothly, and I have to say that I like all the jobs. This years CD is going to be great. On a bright note I have my EP Feasibilty study done and my Marketing plan done so no more of that for me.
For exams its not to bad with 3 left to do in Recording, EP and marketing. I have theatre done (got 100) and I have Broadcast audio done (got 85).

Anyways its off to class, untill next time dear readers

Hey guys this is from The Western Star about the scholarship I won for Grenfell Posted by Hello

Its been a long time but a good time the sun cant shine everyday

Okay time to update in a big way First up the Drama Festival: This year it was held in Grand Falls and we had our show on Tuesday night the third night of the festival not to bad.....I got there on Monday as I was finishing up house-sitting for Kelite and Gypsey (who I miss...sniff sniff) The bus ride to Grand Falls wasnt that bad despite the fact that it would have a been a beautyful day to drive.....on the bus there was someone I knew so I didnt get stuck sitting with some crazy person or rather some sane person get stuck sitting by me (hehe). I got to see the Off-Broadway Players from Connor Brook that night and their play was great it was The Art of War" but the stage was a little crowed as their set took up a lot of room....The Grand Falls stage is very tiny. We got the stage after their show to do our changeover and it was great I got to go up on the Catwalk(its the high bar that lights hang from in this case in the house, in case you didnt know) and I got to repostion the lights for our show and change the gel colours. We got back to the hotel about 12:30 ish and I had a 9 am call to go back and finish tech for the show. Our show went well the house was great they really enjoyed the show laughing to kill themselves.....Jeff ( the adjucator) said lots of good things and one in particular he said that he liked the lights. (smile) So I was supposed to leave Grand Falls on Wendsday morning to come home but we got snow oh did we ever it was so much that trucks got stuck on the roads.....but as they say the show must go on even if it is in the dark and it did and it was an amazing experience one that I cant put into words...but lots of Congrats to the Carol Players from Lab. City for giving it to us. Okay so I left on Thursday morning and headed home. When I got there mom and I cramed so much stuff in and she took Megs and I for a yummy dinenr at The Keg. Also they surprised me with a flight back so I didnt have to take the bus (smile).
The Second good thing that I have to update you about is that I won a 500 scholarship for when I go to Grenfell for stagecraft, now all I have to do is get in.

Untill next time dear readers
