Hey all,
I know long time no post. I have been busy with school that everytime I think to post soemthing else comes up.
Lets start with school....Art History is my favourite course ever I love Gerard and how we look at things we see everyday and he makes us see them in a different light and its like how come I never thought of this before. The time of 8:30 in the am after a crew call is not so nice where we are sitting in a dark classroom looking at slides this sitution screams nap time but you cant sleep as you are so envolved at what we are talking about. Also I love that we talk about topics that would be normally left out of a class room sitution which is refreshing as it is treating issuses head on and not sweeping it under a rug. I leave the room thinking about everything and loving every minute. Another great thing is that Lisa Parmiter is taking this class as well so we get to see each other at least twice a week, and we talk about art history all the time.
English is good I like the drama course, but I love reading plays so I thought that I would. But we got our midterms back and I have to rewrite it on Monday morning, I did not fail I wrote on the worng essay, there was some confusion so Ken (my teacher) just asked me to rewrite and no pentlies for it. Shakespeare is alright with Ken it is hard not to like Shakespeare, he is an awesome teacher really helps you understand the subject matter. But with all that I can still leave Shakespeare on the shelf. Yes I have the same teacher for both English courses but he is amazing so I love it. I have told Lisa that even through she does not need the English she should take a course taught by Ken just because you will not reget it.
Stagecraft this year is good, I love the classes expect for drafting but what can you do. Production this year is nuts in addition to the daytime classes I have production for 12 hours a week, I am in each week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wendesday nights from 7-11pm but sometimes we are not there for the whole time. My running assignment for this show was props/carps build and follow spot op for the show. I have built a lot this semester and used tools that I have not used before. I am very good at turning wood on the lythe (making a square piesce of wood round to make a handle) and the best thing is that Roy is really please with me this year so thats good. Props class was a tough one not the work but the project, we had to design, draft the pattern, and make a bag. I paired up with Komal (girl in my class) to do this as she can not use the sewing meachine, needs new glasses, so we said that she would cut and all that I would sew it together. That was fine but then we found out that Tim(teacher) would like two bags from us. No problem fast foward 8 hours on Komal's purse and Krista is ready to throw the sewing meachine into the pool which is convenlty located outside and down a floor from our classroom. Talked to Tim he understood that I could not spend any more time on this, he said take a break and come back and try to finish one, so I stayed and finished in recorded time one purse and Tim is happy. Krista regains some sanity on Friday night.
Because of all this I do not have a lot of time to do anything else, if I am home I am sleeping or doing homework. I have Thursday CSI at Lisa's and we still do our Friday night movie...this brings me back to regaining some sanity on Friday, when we were finished classes yesterday we ran into each other in the halls, and I was like I do not care what we do I just wanted alcohol, chinnesse food. and lots of junk food. Lisa was all for it. So thats what we did and it was just what I needed after this week of purses, staining the stage, and essays.
I think this has gone on long enough I am planing to come home for christmas on the 15th of December. And Kate Happy Birthday hope it was fun.
Love and miss you all
Krista
